Confining Head, ACI 2005

Confinement heads by ACI 2005 Update.

Confinement head or tip of walls, known as boundary elements, is required for all structures wishing to upgrade to the ACI 2005 standard, specifically the requirements of Chapter 21, which considers the incorporation of structural diaphragms reinforced with longitudinal reinforcement and transversal.

The confinement head or tip of walls, known as boundary elements, is required for all structures wishing to upgrade to the 2005 ACI standard, specifically the requirements of chapter 21, which considers the incorporation of structural diaphragms reinforced with armor longitudinal and transverse.

The Head confinement of wall is accomplished by small perforations in the walls that allow transfer of the carbon fiber wrapping which ensures the required working tension of the fiber section along its length.

This type booster is designed in relation to the additional requirements of confinement, which determines the amount of carbon fiber required for each case.

Both requirements armature logitudinal cross can be generated and carbon fiber. In the case of the longitudinal reinforcement plate placed one on the edge of the wall and in the case of the transverse reinforcement element confinement edge carbon fiber is designed.
